god i miss the old days. even though this was 7 months before I was born.
-
not to mention, they are using logos for the storm warnings, something they used to do back in the day, which i miss. now its actually a county viewing area map. when it used to be storm or tornado symbols.

@corydwalker: Not unless you knew your counties, LOL ;-).

Yay, WeatherSTAR III at the end of the clip

Is that bow echo indyire?

I'm sorry, but I like this radar a lot better.

I like the old NWS radar used in the early 1990s.

I always hated this radar. You never could tell where any of the counties were and it was too plain looking.
Yes, I think around 1990 is when they got their NEXRAD working. It was a big deal.

yeah. it was the basic NWS radar at the time. all the local stations had a feed.

The tone in the beginning sounds like the EBS/EAS attention tone, was it activated or just used by the station?
BojanglesUdon 4 years ago
they did a quick 2 or 3 tone burst at the beginning of their weather alerts but it wasn't the EBS.

That plain blue radar looks familar? What year did Wave stop using it?

About the end of 1990 I believe. That was when NEXRAD came about. WDRB used a similar display until the late 90's.
