This performance was filmed in 2002 and is my favorite live version of this Darrell Scott song. It's understated; the bass doesn't even start until 2 minutes in. I'd love to see the TV program JUSTIFIED use this version for a montage in their series finale.

Me, too, ebarnes, And tis is my favorite version. I've seen Patty Loveless play it on Austin City limits and have heard other artists play it, but I LOVE this one. This came from an out-of-print DVD called MERLEFEST: The 15th ANNIVERSARY JAM & was recorded in 2002. I hope they re-release that DVD someday. I've seen it used on the internet for $50.
