As an ASL instructor for wide ranges of ASL students, I'm offering a sample of what a real-life ASL Deaf person facial expression (non-manual markers) looks like when listening/watching another signer's conversation. Keep in mind every person has their own unique style. Many Deaf friends complain how hearing people often have blank faces; I'm showing in this video how we tend to use nearly all of our face, from the eyebrows, nose, lips and nodding yes/no or even shrugging. This gives constant feedback for a Deaf signer to know we're following through successfully.
