@WhistlingTube Waking up to the realization that the very foundation of your core beliefs are false is not an easy hill to climb. Some people won't/can't accept it. Personally what people believe doesn't truly matter until they wish to enforce that belief. So the main crux of the issue is to explain the base morals about why our enlarged state is a bad thing.
