Cool & Annie in the pasture with 2010 filly by Cool. Aug 2010. If you are serious in searching for an excellent Quarter horse stallion, your search may be over by considering Cool Renegade. But first, a brief synopsis!! After 45 years, we retired from raising Quarter horses full-time. Back in the 1980's, our breeding program focused on our sire, Skippa Splash (Superior Halter Stallion and sire of Superior horses). Since our dispersal back in 1992 when we sold over 60 head, we kept our horse operation more on the hobby level. In 1996, we bred Skippa Splash's half-sister, Cool Finesse by Ima Cool Skip, to 2X World Champion, River City Renegade and the resulting foal was Cool Renegade. Cool Renegade had a limited show career in which he stood Grand. The past few years we didn't make an effort to stand to the public. Cool was bred to average mares which produced examples of quality. We have included some pictures of some of his get and Youtube.com has several videos showing Cool Renegade and his offspring. Just enter (dplarson19) and 14 videos are available, twelve of which are horse related. He has sired several 16 handed horses, no doubt, due to his 16 hand dam, Cool Finesse. One of his daughters, LaCoolette, is featured on one of the videos. She is a halter horse that rides which in our opinion is what all halter horses should be able to do. Some accolades worth mentioning regarding Cool Renegade are: outstanding puppy-dog disposition (Our seven-year-old grandson, Brady, has led Cool from the pasture to the barn for several years), baby-doll head, powerful muscle definition, balanced and correct conformation, easy AI breedable and live cover, and rideable. I dont think we have bred mares to a better individual than Cool, and we have bred mares to some outstanding stallions, such as Tardy Impressive, Ima Cool Skip, etc. In fact, we raised the first World Champion by Ima Cool Skip named Zoraya who was out of Champagne Splash by our deceased stallion Skippa Splash. Cool is very athletic. During free play, I have seen him slide like a reining horse, do a roll-back and move out like a ballet dancer. Nice flat-knee action which he passes on to his get. We are looking for someone who will continue caring for Cool in a manner to which he has been accustomed. It has been a joy to watch him exercise his freedom with the herd and not be committed to solitary confinement with the exception of a box stall overnight. In our opinion, it is a much more natural way to manage a stallion. He has not been allowed to pasture-breed as we hand-breed the mares. However, he did sneak one by us in the pasture one time and resulted in a pregnancy! Study the pedigree of Cool Renegade to recognize that he is "bred in the purple!" Continue the legacy of World Champion sires: River City Renegade-Kid Clu-Obvious Conclusion- Conclusive-Impressive-Ima Cool Skip-Skipa Star-Tuffernhel. Several years ago, research showed that these stallions sired over 300 World and Reserve World Champions, and the total is no doubt much higher today. Some of you "old-timers" may appreciate seeing some of the horses in the fourth and fifth generation of the extended pedigree such as Skipper's Lad-Spot Cash-Skipper W-Scooper Chick- Triple Chick-Three Bars-Poco Dell. That's just the male side. On the female side, just to name a few were Tardy's Jan Too-Susie Impressive-Skipa Tuff Miss-Oh Kay-Miss Walter-Spanish Money-Mexicala Rose-Tooter Kay-Southern Queen. Seems quite obvious why Cool Renegade is such a nice individual. He possesses some outstanding genetics. The name-brand horses above were the results of selective breeding at its finest. Cool has been a dear friend and we hate to see him leave, but he needs to be utilized in a manner to which is bloodline dictates. With a little bit of public awareness, there certainly should be no reason not to breed a substantial number of mares to him. Or you may be thinking about just breeding your own mares and not have to deal with the hassle of hauling mares, transporting semen, extra vet expenses, etc. Our only expense was ultra-sounding the mares in foal. Think about enhancing your breeding program with Cool and give us a call. We are very motivated to find a new home for him. WIND'S REACH QUARTER HORSES Home 952-892-6370 Cell 952-212-7661.
