This is from a sound check for '70's class reunion for my High School (Monta Vista, Cupertino). Sadly I goofed and didn't record the actual performance, but here's the sound check/rehearsal, with a couple of major nervous mistakes such as me coming in too early for the second chorus, and also starting out with the treble pickup instead of the main. But it might be the only chance I'll have to play with these old friends again, so here it is, with Mike Barrett on vocals (see www.the-sun-kings.com for info on his amazing Beatles band), Jon Wheeler on Bass, and Dave Wilyoung on drums (Jon and Dave from "Storm"). (If you're looking for the other reunion videos, sorry but I started getting infringement notices, so I removed most of them.)

  • The best rock song ever written - I just love the tone, what gear are you using John?

Great news that Robin is touring the USA Europe and UK for the next few months in 2008 so go see the legend while you can.

  • Thanks! It's a Charvel guitar with a Fender Lace pickup on the front, Crate G130C SL 2-12"" combo amp (this is the main thing for the sound, I think - found it used at a store and fell in Love with it, even though I have to bang on it occasionally it to fix an intermittant), and a Boss DS-1 Distortion for the lead. Thanks for the heads-up on the tour--I would have missed it! I've only seen him 3 times back in the '70's.
