From city of Mosul, Iraq, in the middle of a war, blogger Hadiya writes, "I forgot what peace looks like. What the street looks like. What the sky in the night looks like. What my relatives look like. Sometimes I just think that if you could see what my eyes see, if you could hear what my ears hear, you would be able to understand what I mean.
This compilation of blog posts spanning from 2004-2007 is an engrossing read. At times the entries are heartbreaking, other times humorous. Hadiya is an average teen, yet she is not. We invite you to briefly step into the daily life of Hadiya and join us for an evening of conversation. A representative from the publisher Haymarket Books will be here to introduce the book and offer insights into the process of publishing "IraqiGirl."
