  • I was wondering what those round things on the side of buses were for.

  • Those would be the guide wheels.

  • Top 5 things you never knew about the O-Bahn & Buses:

    1. The flip down signs at the track entrances say 'Caution: Work On Track'

    2. The articulated O-Bahn buses (I think!) are equipped with special weight distribution devices.

    3. The O-Bahn test track is located next to Grand Junction Rd.

    4. There is a special twin-ended O-Bahn recovery vehicle that rescues stranded buses on the track.

    5. A few new buses from VIC and NSW were trailed on the O-Bahn!

  • I already know about Dumbo ryan. (Referring top point 4.)

  • Another thing I discovered:

The O-Bahn was manufactured by Beton, an Australian concrete firm.

  • I see.

I'm just wondering why Rann has decided to extend the O-Bahn to West Tce.

  • What I would like to know: Do the old O 305s have automatic gears? Here in Germany, they have been used mostly with manual gears, automatic gears haven t been so usual for busses, those days. I quess the newer ones do have automatic gears?

  • ... a "Dead Sin" to buy anything else but Mercedes-Benz, for the local Urban Transportation Company.... ^^ - Greetings to Australia!

  • If someone is interested in: There s an O-Bahn system running at the area of Oberhausen, Northrhine-Westphalia, Germany....

  • Its interesting for me as a german, to see those old O 305s running in Australia.... Here in Germany, the most of these are already taken out of service. When I was a kid, I was riding those wery often - almost no MANs, I growed up near Stuttgart, so it would have been a "sin" to take anything else but Mercedes, for the local urban transporation company... ^^ Greetings to "Down Under"
