The CFM Shadow is just a great microlight. How I would love to own one.

Nobody owns the beach! long as you dont break the 500ft rule! Hows that for freedom?

Nice little wings there =D
But the beach... you can just land there? O.o Or is it remote?

Purchased one of these a few months ago but had to wait 9 weeks for good weather before flying it back GUTTED! Been up in mine five times now and yesterday was field hopping, practicing (non touch) emergency landings! Got back beeming from ear to ear and just cant shut up about it! The view WOW, the pilot position WOW, the shear bangs for bucks WOW and my beautiful wife enjoyed a jolly out, in the back, for a meal at a local airfield. Perfect! Great vid, am off to the beach for sure ASAP! : )

@ineedsausername - welcome to the club. Really glad you're enjoying your Shadow now the weather's picked up; they're one of those 'best kept secrets' aren't they! Enjoy your flying and post some footage :-)

I am looking at one of those fine machines but how is the spares availabilaty, is someone supporting it.
And is it a microlight or a experimental?

Hi Demusch,
There are two organisations offering excellent support for the Shadow here in the UK, Crosbie Engineering which is local to me, and the Shadow Flight Centre which is a bit further away (both are happy to mail parts though). All spares are available at reasonable cost and both will undertake any repair you could think of. Rotax engine spares should be freely available in the Netherlands as they're pretty widely used. All in all, a viable machine for someone non-UK based I think.

BTW, there are 4 Shadow variants, 2 are microlights and 2 are Group A SEP machines (although the Streak Shadow can be either depending on MAUW!). They're a lot of fun and the view is simply outstanding!
