A 1986 recording at the armed forces (army, marines, navy) school of music. This is the faculty lab band giving a concert for black history month 1986. An arrangement based on Maynard Fergusons recording of Elis Coming. The Army trumpet soloist was Bill Maley. Does anyone know the Navy guy?

  • WEAVE!!!!!!!!

  • @Flextones That explains a lot....

  • @jtbsax cool thanks i didn't know that

  • @soundwavefreak6659 The Air Force actually doesn't have it's own school of music. Musicians report directly to the band upon completion of boot camp, just like the musicians that get accepted to the DC or Academy bands for all branches (except Marines, musicians accepted into the President's Own don't have to go to boot camp). This is part of the reason their entrance standards are higher than the other branches.

  • it is....they just have their own school of music

  • ROBXXXL "DUDE"..Learn to spell before you criticize...It's Eli numbnuts.

  • they have their own music school, own standards, etc.

  • So the USAF is no longer part of the Armed Forces?

  • If they miss a beat or note......do they make the offender stop and do a lot of push-ups?

  • cool, i went to school there about 3 years before this recording!
