This video was shot in 2009 by my husband Rafael López during Semana Santa in San Miguel de Allende Mexico. The procession is called Santo Entierro, Christ in the tomb and is the largest with over 1500 participants starting at the Oratorio church. The santero maker of the angels is Don Genero Almanza and they are carried by children and women through the cobblestone streets of this UNESCO World Heritage city. The one ton coffin carrying Christ is carried by the men of the town flanked by torches and the scent of chamomile blossoms fills the air.
