There's a place called Mama's Guesthouse run by a German ex-pat and his family. VERY worth checking out based on your budget. I paid about 800BHT a night for a double room for one person. Private bath, hot shower, and very clean sheets. Great location, just right down the street from the main stretch. Internet cafe next door, and Sea World Dive shop is basically across the street.

off there in Feb cant wait,been to the other side but not been phi phi yet. If you know any cheap places to stay there let me know as most places are like 2000b a night fook that lol most ill pay is 1000
