I had the opportunity to demonstrate 4 different types of heads so I took advantage of it. Here, I demonstrate the sound and rebound of the following heads:
-Metalworkz Mesh Heads
-Rock Band 1 EL stock set heads
-Roadie Mylar Replacement Drum Head
-ION DrumRocker stock heads (& cymbals)

In the sound category, the Metalworkz Mesh Heads are the quietest. There is a close tie for the loudest between the Rock Band 1 EL stock set heads and Mylar head, but this is arguable.

In the rebound category, again the Metalworkz Mesh Heads take first. Next best being the Mylar head, then the ION DrumRocker stock heads.

  • Hey thanks for the input I'm gopin to get them soon.

  • Hey ike968, I answered your question on what I thought of Goodwoods, but to tell you the truth, I think Metalworkz heads would be the better choice. The owner has outstanding customer service and the heads themselves are absolutely incredible. Pay the extra to get these heads.

  • Yeah thanks man I am actually going to do that because i heard the mesh is 7 times tronger than regular mesh my only problem is the good woods come with support struts are the metal headz light enough to be supported or what?

  • Metalworkz heads do not need struts, they just pop right on and that's it. They are light, durable, and yes they have stronger mesh than Goodwoods.

  • Nice video i like these comparisons, I'm thinking of buying Good Wood Mods, do you think they are good?

  • I think Goodwoods would be an excellent choice. The company is very reputable and the #1 choice for many of the top drummers.

  • @rbrad1987 i think they're hit marks on the shiny surface mate

  • @saturnfreaker how come the mylar of ur mylar bad looks bubbled when u hit it

  • Which head it the most resist?

  • @naruto04210 How the fuck did you give them back? He did not respond after he sent me shitty pads. I wasted $120 on 4 circular pieces of fuck.

  • @saturnfreaker My MetalWorkz came broken, took 3 months to get here, and I could not regain contact with him after I got them.

  • I bought the MetalWorkz Mesh Heads and I didn't like the feel. I returned them the next day and got Goodwoods and they are much better.

  • After playing on Goodwoods for so long, now that I have cymbals, it's hard to play Pro mode, because the RB3 cymbals barely have any rebound.

  • @saturnfreaker

I have ions so I can't get metalworkz, are mylar better than stock ion?

  • @andydrew500 me too :P

  • i laughed at the rock band stock drum pads when you did the rebound for it. lol
