Brazil also had his black slaves... Since XVI Century african people were brought against their wishes to a strange land (America). "Brazilian" indians weren't very good for working... So, Portuguese and Brazilian business men decided to get slave working on Africa. Brazilian People is basically a mix of White Europe (Portugal)/Black People (Africa)/Native People (Aboriginal). So, brazilian people has a specific looking: blue/green/brown eyes; white/brown/ black skin and several types of hair.

@drucafate Don't blame the Irish. Blame the Scotch-Irish Protestants. Seems that the English with the Scottish tried to subdue the Irish by the Plantation of Ulster (look it up). About 100 years later, the Reformed Protestants were pissing off the establishment Anglicans who made the Scotch-Irish miserable, too. So many migrated to the colonies, a lot to the south. Then they began to piss off the black slaves, except the ones who went west and pissed off the Natives. Humans suck.

Really. It's very sad that in many parts of USA at the time, colored persons wouldn't have been allowed to eat in the same restaurant as white persons. In the past, people from Ireland and England knew to bring black people from Africa to America as slaves and didn't understand the troubles this would cause in the future. Different origins... Of course, when colored people became free, shock would have to happen. But today, happily, these things have passed and our world is different.

The man on bass with the black hair is Culley Holt, the original bass singer for the Jordanaires, and he was my father. We lived in Nashville, TN, and I now live 90 miles away on Monteagle Mtn TN now; Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the compliment, I miss him so badly, he died at 50 in 1980, 30 yrs ago.

Isn't it ironic that in many parts of this country at the time, the composer of this song, the Lucie Campbell, would not have been allowed to eat in the same restaurant as the Jordanaires because of the color of her skin?
