Saw this band on New Years Eve 1967 and still think this was the best congregation he ever worked with. Saw the JB's with Bootsy later on but they were like a garage band compared to this unit. Just my opinion.

I know what you mean, but these are not actually the JB's, though! At this time, he called his band the James Brown Orchestra. The new band he had after this one, with Bootsy Collins on bass, his brother Phelps Collins (Catfish) on guitar, etc, were the first JB's, and they came in 1970.

Awesome! Nice to hear and see them live! I have about ten LP:s with J B:s instrumental versions. Among them this tune, and here it sounds a little different! But Good!
