  • Shit, the soul fans are digging this, the jazz fans are digging this, just the coolest.

  • Saw this band on New Years Eve 1967 and still think this was the best congregation he ever worked with. Saw the JB's with Bootsy later on but they were like a garage band compared to this unit. Just my opinion.

I know what you mean, but these are not actually the JB's, though! At this time, he called his band the James Brown Orchestra. The new band he had after this one, with Bootsy Collins on bass, his brother Phelps Collins (Catfish) on guitar, etc, were the first JB's, and they came in 1970.

    Yes - "Sidewinder".

  • Awesome! Nice to hear and see them live! I have about ten LP:s with J B:s instrumental versions. Among them this tune, and here it sounds a little different! But Good!

  • He had bene a veteran for 11 years and he was really starting to get things off and running by 67 he was developing a new sonmg that would carry over into the next decade.

  • WOW WOW WOW!!!!

  • This is when JB really started to polish his act.
