A tennis coach once told me that in the neutral stance (playing relaxed from baseline), I need to push out of my front leg also; is that biomechanically possible; I can only manage to transfer my weight to my front leg. I can't push out of it, should I even try??

@Samv1900 If you mean push off the court with your front leg then the answer is yes. Your body will unwind and LIFT as you swing up. This way you will have two forces working together.

No...Andy Fitzell....Fitzell Tennis is the name of my channel. But I saw that you had asked your question to Jeff and a couple other channels....Maybe that is where you got confused.

I swing my forehand with a relaxed wrist and I always get a lot more power and spin than with a fixed ,you can not accelerate the racquet at the same speed as a spring motion .

Well, Federer´s brain "thinks" the racquet is an extension of his arm...

yes, I did. sorry for the confusion. I have also posted it on Federer's guest book, let's see if we have a reply for him. I tried to see some players play forehand from the baseline and sometimes they actually have their front leg off of the ground or just light planted. Most players I see rely on rotation from back foot mush more with only support needed from the front leg. Since the game has become a baseliner's game it makes sense that one would want to save energy. best wishes, samir
