In the storytelling tradition of Studs Terkel and the photographic spirit of Mike Disfarmer, The Oxford Project tells the extraordinary true tale of a seemingly ordinary Midwestern town through the pictures and words of its residents. Equal parts art, American history, cultural anthropology, and human narrative—The Oxford Project is at once personal and universal, surprising and predictable, simple and profound.
Looking for the CBS piece...did a search for Oxford Project and Peter Feldstein on their site...no results. Very weak sauce CBS. Peter's story and the project made me very proud to be a small-town documentary photographer. The small stories and 'colloquial projects' we do matter a LOT. Thanks Peter for your inspiration and a fabulous project. I feel bad I am just now finding out about it. A book is on my Christmas list.

Did anyone see Sunday Morning with Charles Osgood this morning - 11/16/08? What a heartwarming story about new friendships and lifelong ties. Everyone should purchase a book for their collection, the coffee table or as a gift. I found out the local bookstore of the photographer is the renowned Prairie Lights Bookstore in Iowa City. Buy your books with them!
