A technology concept video produced by HP in the late 1980's to showcase HP's vision of office automation and collaboration software in the year 1995. Seems like a lot of HP's "vision" was borrowed from Apple's Knowledge Navigator albeit with much more of a corporate twist.

  • It was the late 80s. Everything was supposed to be "open" (even though little was).

  • I saw this video when it was produced by HP. We dreamed the dream and it came true.

  • Opendoc?

  • Thank you for your cooperation. Althought I have VHS video given by MITI in 1990's, it is not convenient to show it the students under master course in Japan. This video assisted me to create my idea to develop the agent technology in my doctor's thesis and to get Dr. Engineering in March, 2001.

  • funny, openstep

  • Now - Anyone have the risque version with the alternate soundtrack? : about Todger Growth Hormone?

  • From HP's website (2) “It was also an ad for New Wave. All technologies showcased were currently available in 1989. Like all “vision” videos, this one was very optimistic. As of 2006, the only commonly used technologies highlighted were flat-panel screens and frequent frowning at high telecom bills.

  • From HP's website (1) “1995” was HP’s vision for computing six years from the date of production. This 17-minute video follows the working lives of a few people and highlights how computer technology greatly enhances their productivity. Particularly strong themes are remote teleconferencing, voice recognition and the ease of communication between the computers of different companies.

  • Hey HD? How did you get this?
