if the marketplace was restricted to the US the market will/would control prices, not doctors, lawyers and politicians.. if we need more tomato's we order from some where else and pay their prices like it was for 223yrs.. I have competed with 280 to 300 million people for jobs all my life and have done ok.. they are now makin' me compete w/ 6.5 billion and that my friend is TREASON!!!!
You think the US government should FORCE citizens to purchase products at a higher price than can be found in the free market!?
That's like saying Obama should pass a law forcing all Americans to only buy cars from GM.... It's good for GM but its bad for everyone else, and bad for the economy.
I have nothing against trade with those outside of the US, but when we NEED their products and services.. don't import tomato's from Canada unless we cannot produce enough on our own.. by importing when there is no need lowers the prices I can get for my tomato's at the marketplace.. protectionism is self preservation..
They also go bankrupt (or fail to exist in the first place) because labor costs are elevated (by the state/fed) above the level of economic viability.
"more bankruptcies..?" companies go bankrupt because they don't know how to manage money, make good wigits or they are inept.. look at bankruptcies and see where a HUGE rise occurred.. it wasn't in 1936, 1947 or 1965.. in fact, 1/2 the products produced on the planet in 1965 came from the US.. look to after Nixon and you'll see that's where we began our downfall.. what created this turnaround..? TREASON is what created it.. a coup d'etat without firing a shot, YET!!!!!
In all throughout the 1800 hundreds america was flooded in "immigrants". There was no shortage of work, & in the known world, had the highest wages. How could that be? There was no income tax, no payroll tax, no minimum wage, etc. White Men were able to keep 93% of their wages. I envision all workers, employ keeping a supra-majority of their profits
now we're getting somewhere.. what does Capitalism dictate..? What does LAW dictate..? we are either a capitalist country or we are not.. Bush admitted he had to "diviate from Capitalist Principles" and there is where we should begin our search for a cure for what ails us.. I can and have competed w/280 to 300 million people all my life but I cannot and should not be expected to compete w/6.5 Billion.. this country's ailments are the result of a coup d'etat that began after Nixon..

Well..there are many legals that speak Spanish...
but with the influx of many illegals from central America, they are distoring the job market.
