Ricky Scaggs had a hit with this tune back in the 80's. Always thought it would make a good vid. Especially that scene where the dude finally gets an approving eye and smile from mama. Would be nice to have those other instruments playing along with the guitar, i.e., squeeze box and fiddle. Seems to me the Restless Riders have been known to do a song or two with just those ingredients. I'd love ot hear them give it a try.

  • Great song, great performance. Thanks. What is that pretty git fiddle there?

  • Thank you, alonzogarbanzo. Appreciate you listening in. Yeah, I really love my guitar. It's Martin D-16H. Had it nearly 20 years. - Mark

  • VEry pretty tune, Mark! Enjoyed it!

  • Thank you, Ms. NAncy. It's almost the kind of tune you can see a songcatcher trying to nab with a net. I really get a kick out of that line where Mama finally caves to full moons, music and young love. - Mark

  • Does anyone know where I can listen to Jim Rushing's song "I've Loved Enough to Know"? We can't find it anywhere. The first time we heard it, we thought it was Don Williams.

  • well...that was actually Ricky playing fiddle on that...think Hicks did double up with him on that part though.

  • Yep, can't beat Ricky singing it with that high bluegrass voice of his. I like the way his fiddle player really cuts loose. Thanks. - Mark

  • look for the skaggs version here on youtube.

  • Yeah, I really thought it was a ready-made Restless Rider tune. Guess I'll just have to wait until the holiday stretch is over. Thanks for listening and thanks for the stars. - Mark

  • Thanks, Scott. Always liked this tune, glad you do, too. - Mark

  • You might want to give it a shot with that banjo you've been talking about dusting off. Bet it'd sound great. Hope you had a happy Father's Day with that little guy of yours. - Mark
