  • Thank you for posting this, UChannel.

  • I will gladly pay to attend a college that bestows wisdom on me, and gives me access to knowledge.

I absolutely will not go to a college that tells me how and what to think, and rations out knowledge in pre packaged servings, screened and sanatized, and handed out under strict conditions.

    western colleges today are:

priority #1. tell you how to think and what to believe.

priority #2. How to be a good producer

priority #3. how to be a good consumer

  • This was boring. Did it get better after the first 20 minutes? I couldn't go on after 20...

  • @wickedzerox - right, edifying, but pedantic and less than arresting.

What is the point of college? It is like a pond; the outer world is like an ocean. A pond has it's little interesting ecosystem, but can be stagnant, with not much impact on its surroundings. One of my best friends is immersed in the college world, and wants me to join her or "to become a professor". Nope, i'm too involved in my job, contributing to the mainstream economy of goods and services. No ivory tower for me

  • I like this lecture.
