Pikes Landing on the Chena River, is a historic spot in Fairbanks. It is named for Lloyd Pike, who homesteaded the area under the U.S. Homestead Act shortly after World War II. The hotel is minutes from the Fairbanks Alaska airport, and next door to famous Pike's Landing restaurant. On the roof of the Copper Lodge, are solar panels which produce 21,000 kilowatts of power.
