Are you talking about a different Australia? I'm Australian and I don't know anyone who feels that way about the anthem.

I had more to say but youtube deleted my entire comment. Sigh.

The other thing was that I don't think this is a mockery of God Save The Queen. Just because he doesn't remember all the words dosen't mean the character doesn't love his country.

Um, speaking as an Australian, I'm very skeptical about what you say about our anthem being our pride... I don't think I know ANYONE who really feels that way. As for loving it.... it's not exactly a musical masterpiece. If I was singing it for a special occasion, I might feel that way, a little. It would take some serious atmosphere though, because the music is basically just a ton of crotchets and scales.

Ha that's strange, the comment I posted earlier is there after all, it wasn't when I refreshed before.

You said, "Does it really matter what you think?" Hmm. Please bear in mind that one could say exactly the same thing to you. Your opinion is no more valid than mine.

I'm happy for yout feeling so proud about the national anthem. The point that I was making is that you're mistaken when you say Australans (you implied most Australians) take more pride in their anthem, and love it.

That is very funny, and I say that as someone who is very fond of our National Anthem...

erm... speaking as someone living in London, i think it's safe to say most people make a joke out of the Queen... we love her and everything but she doesn't do much, if anything was to happen to her people would go balistic but until then we're all laid back enough to understand a joke when we see one
