In about 1945 I started in Hornby Gauge O tinplate. In my twenties I sold it all, needing the money!! Then in the 1970s I bought a Hornby Hall and Pannier Tank but in Gauge OO. It has all moved on and I now am building a large layout in my attic.
However, I admit to hankering for Gauge O. The track gauge is right, the bigger trains are much more realistic, though modern gauge OO is streets ahead better than the old Hornby Tri-Ang.. Your layout is brilliant! It is a RAILWAY!

This is a superb layout in every detail. I like the station platforms and the signalling. Also, the girder bridge is most impressive. But where are the passenger trains? Anybody waiting patiently on a station platform is going to have a very long wait!
