Car companies are coming out with plug in hybrids which allow you to drive the first 40 miles on electric and then the engine uses gas to run on. This is great, however, we will need to produce more electricity to recharge these cars. We currently produce most of our electric with coal, natural gas, nuclear, just 5% I believe is solar and wind. We will have to build more nuclear plants to meet the demand. Americans are conserving, however it is putting a damper on economic growth.

I can't believe their still trying to get the minutes of Dick's energy council meetings. He had a room full of oil executives who where dividing up the Iraq oil supply before 9/11 ever took place. There's no way that they can EVER allow those minutes to be public or it would incriminate Bush's administration further for lying about WMD an the rest, (not to mention raising suspicions of involvement in the events of 9/11).

You will burn up every last drop just to drive around the block in a gas guzzler.
