Didcot has a myriad of cycle paths through it. This is great apart from they all seem to go all over the place. On a couple of occasions I give up on the cycle route as it would take waiting at several pelican crossings (totalling several minutes) to advance by 50 yards (or 10 seconds).
NCN route 5 is very poorly signposted. I was wanting to join it and go towards Milton but the only signpost took me, in roughly the right direction, but towards Long Wittenham, as I only found out too late.
NCN route 5 is a complete shambles through Didcot. It comes in from the north-west and goes out to the north-east (or vice versa!) For some reason it wiggles it's way right into the middle of Didcot then back out, almost in the same direction. It travels over 2miles to get to a place 200 yards away. If this was lovely cycling then fine, but it's central Didcot, the ar*e of south Oxfordshire.
