Shortly after the June 12th Iranian presidential election, the supporters of reform candidate Hossein Mousavi took to the streets to protest the announced win of hard-line president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, and the suspicion of voter fraud. Iranian security forces and hard-line volunteer militia members responded with force and arrests, attempting to stamp out the protests. Though the government attempted to black out all news coverage of the protest, it could not be done. Citizens were able to get the word out via Facebook, YouTube and Twitter. Democracy has at last arrived in Iran.

I was instantly inspired. We can thank my daughter, as she found the song, which is WHAT A DAY by Greg Laswell. Thanks again for looking.

  • FREEDOM TO IRAN!

  • @equalspie maybe Egypt first. ;)

  • @equalspie Oh yeah..."next" for what?

  • I remember seeing this on the news. This was a sad day in history. People in a democracy have the right to vote for powere comes form the consent of the governed not the government. I immediately thought it was voter fraud. Their govenrment had with held holding elections for months after they were ordered to hold them so of course they are going to fix the election to keep their power. This hard-line president is cut from the same crop that the Iatola Komani was cut from. I see touble coming.

  • You can not reform Islam. The Islamic law is claimed to have come from Mohammad's god. But you can expel Islam out of your country. we are all victims of muhammad's lies

  • FIGHT IRANN, FIGHT FOR YOUR FREEDOM!MY COUNTRY HAD THE SAM PROBLEM WITH THE COMMUNISM,BUT 20 YEARS THE ROMANIAN PPL ENDED THE COMUNISM!

  • Excellent video, stirs the heart & takes it back to a time when people all over the world watched in horror & yet so very proud.

Are we not taught to speak up for our right to be treated with dignity, without violence or death?

Pray the hearts fighting against oppression remain blessed with patience, strength & courage to never give up hope, as long as they don't stop trying :)
