Besides being a renown composer and arranger in his own right, Gordon Goodwin also leads the Big Phat Band and is something of a jazz icon. Today, he plays tenor sax with Joshua Marcus (alto sax) and Thomas Eby (trumpet) on this "Lion King" classic. The 2007 Disneyland All-American College Band presented by Yamaha features musicians from colleges and universities around the country under the leadership of Dr. Ron McCurdy of USC.
Might be the sound quality but the band and soloists seem like they are fluctuating tempos a lot. I wish there was a recording anywhere for the Disney all star band with Arturo and Maynard

my jazz band is performing this for our upcoming competition and it isn't that hard. i play the lead alto part and it's a pretty cool song. i love accompanying the trumpet. i really don't like the way the trumpet player sound in this one. too choppy and not even rhythmn.
