It is a way of life.

A way of life that has been systematically destroyed since the end of WWII with the onset of the multikult infection, a virus we have not recovered from.

The simple answer to "What is Britishness" IS if you have to ask, then YOU ARE NOT!

Please refer your comment to Angela Merkel, Chancellor of Germany, who publicly announced last October that "multiculturalism has been a complete, utter failure". Just a thin smokescreen from our Marxist leaders. They realise that people are getting a bit shirty about the door being opened wide to cheap foreign labour and an aggressive theocratic cult so they decided to feign interest in 'Britishness', whilst giving themselves an opportunity to re-write the definition in a nice, tree-hugging, lentil-munching, self-flagellating, multicultural framework. @RichieEastside The United Kingdom has had so much immigration that it has transformed the country. The pro-multiracial, cultural marxists have created this identity crisis. To be British now is to be multicultural, but whenever you ask the so-called minority groups they always identify with their original roots. When British people who are of true ethnic British stock like English and Scots identify with their race, they are called racists. True Britons will be a minority before 2066.

Britishness has been bent out of shape in people minds because of the cultural addons, extreme leftwingers education and rise of New Rome - The EU. This also applies to the identity of other european countries asking what is it to be French, German, Polish etc.

I don't understand why the British have such an identity crisis...you're still on your own patch of land that your ancestors are from, you've got shakespeare, the premier league, your pubs, your high tea, your drum and bass, all kinds of other stuff...seems to me it shouldn't be that difficult to figure it out...

Britishness will never die it's influence is strong to this day in 1/5 of the world. Cricket, driving on the left side of the road,pound as the curency name,rugby, it's system of law and on. Britian is also the best country to immigrate to rather then to the main Eu continent. In britian if you have skill and want to work you be working in less then a year after arrival. I live in Sweden and i can say that when it comes integrating people UK is supperior i myself thinking of moving to the uk.

What Britishness is? You have to be kidding! Britishness=belonging to one of the greatest cultural traditions in the world. Philosophy, literature, science, engineering. Defining the modern concept of freedom (J.S. Mill), intellectual elitism. Britishness=British university. Frenchiness=French university, etc. But drop the hippie shit with the multiculturalism.
