Thank you 2nd Chance Roadster (http://www.2ndchanceroadster.com/) and 949Racing (http://949racing.com). This race wouldn't be a reality without your dedication, products and support!
The 2nd Chance Roadster/949Racing racing car and I made our debut in NASA Performance Touring E (PTE) at AAA Auto Club Speedway. With the car barely finished and passing safety technical inspection late in the day, I missed practice and qualifying for the race shown in this video. Fortunately, I made the race, but only to start from the very back of the grid (18th in the grid, P6 of 6 total in my class, PTE).
Shown here is the whole race, about 25 minutes, uncut. For those who are short on time, here are interesting highlights from the race.
0:50 - Great rolling start from back of the grid to jump half the field before the first corner.
2:49 - Forced pressure on a fellow PTE competitor, an E30 BMW currently P4 in PTE, to make a mistake and spin out.
10:36 - A very fast Honda Challenge CR-X (not in my class) nearly collides with me while making an unnecessary sketchy pass on me in a hairpin corner.
16:08 - Stuck in P3 in PTE for most of the race. Thought hope was lost to catch P2, but a spin by a Legends car in Turn 3 allows me to close in on P2, RJ Racing Miata. Battle for P2 begins.
20:24- After a couple of failed attempts to pass RJ Racing for P2, I finally got my way by outbraking him in Turn 3. After that, it was defense using a white Legends car to draft on the fast straights and using a green Legends car to block RJ Racing behind me. I held on for P2 long enough to the checked flag.
Nice drivin' Sonny! Monty's looking good. Btw what mirror is that??

@sealsponge
Longacre rear view roll cage mounted mirror kit - model #22531. Great mirror, I don't think I even need the passenger side mirror since the view from the driver's seat was awesome.
