Electric boat first trial - elektrische sloep eerste vaart

Onze sloep 'gekkenwerk' voor het eerst varend op elektriciteit.

First run with electric motors

2x 3,5 kW motor (from forklift)
Kelly KD48400,24-48V,400A,Series controller
contacters (main and two reversing) from donor forklift
48v / 600 Ah battery's also from forklift.
Total battery capacity is 28,8 kWh

todo: build in chargers (2x 34 Amp), 12v system (lights, stereo), 220v system, carpentry

Awesome! Maybe you could now calculate a new propeller, using measures like LOA, average rpm you want to use, and maybe a 3 blader... the new propeller will help you achieve the rpm you want, on the voltage you want, on the amperage you want... more speed and less consuption... thank you for posting the vid! BTW, if the rpm is low you might change the propeller pitch, for example...

@rboos That's the idea, a 2 blader has better efficiency so I'll keep this prop and will have it adjusted it to a lower pitch.

We're still very happy with the result :)

@dboekel Ik neem aan dat jullie er ook vletten mee slepen? Mijn voorkeur is diesel. Kben van plan een alu sloep te kopen met 2x 90 pk die 80 kmpu gaat. Ook handig om een boot van 50 m de kant in te duwen tijdens aanmeren.
