I discovered Olivier Messiaen's work when I was about 12 or 13, and of all 2-th century composers, I'd have to say Messaiaen is the one I love above all others. I do not know why, but he seems to have something to say where others are just writing notes to fill time. Even that is an odd comment since one of the things he was interested in was harmonic rhythm, very slow harmonic rhythm. I don't play the organ, but the piano. There is a wealth of piano music by this composer. Light be with you!

he's got the registration just perfect too, the organ in the met is not the easiest to play because of its size!

Its nice you have a decent organ on which to practice and perform. My own church I grew up in had a nice 30 rank pipe organ. Then when I was in my teens they voted to rip it out and put in an Allen digital. I'm still sad about it.
