You say 'they' and 'them' a lot, obviously you're welsh and therefore in a great position to comment, or then again maybe not (roll eyes). I happen to be one of 'them' locals from Wrecsam, it's a shame you didn't bump into me on your travels, maybe in Rhostyllen, Gwersyllt, Pen y Cae or Rhosllanerchrugog, you could have informed all the locals about their new English culture and your view that there is nothing welsh about Wrecsam, I'm sure they would have been pleased !

This is funny because it shows you don't know much about the situation - you clearly think that Wrecsam is similar to Newport! Most areas of Wrecsam have about 20% Welsh speakers, so your figure of 2% is just a little bit out.
It's sad to see that you're one of these daft types who think that people who don't speak Welsh aren't Welsh. Go and tell the people of Rhostyllen they aren't Welsh, and see what response you get - there was nearly a riot in the chamber when a council officer did that.

What a stupid, petty protest, it's not like you can't speak English is it? If it was such a major issue do you really think they would have opted against writing things in Welsh? No, thought not.

Welsh ain't the straunge utteraunce thay utteren wythyin the confynez of Walez but ynstead, a fully developed language which is a more complicated language than English I'm sure. It is a very ancient language, the ancestors were living in Brittain even as early as about 1000 BC, if not earlier (it migh have been even 3000 BC +/- 1500. But proto-celtic is of course as old as any proto-language of the indoeuropean languages.

Because Wrexham is right on the English border and is mostly English speaking. They want the support of people who might not speak Welsh but think that banning people from speaking the language of the country in which the office is situated smacks of Victorian tyrrany rather than 2007.

It's funny... the BNP would be out in force if companies in Southall demanded people don't speak English but Urdu - even though only 5% of people in Southall speak English as a first language....
... yet somehow... in Wales... it's considered ok to force the English language upon the us.
