There is a private server out, InfiniteAion.
It's free but like, 20GB in total.

Yeah, Aion is pay to play. There's a start off fee, then a 15$ monthly fee. It's great :D

i wanna play but it's like 9gb big. since i'm using a slowass computer, i gave up while i was in the middle of downloading it. :[ looks so much fun though.
