@er1cav The IDF is not exported due to US export restriction. The main part of the engine is from US. Require US consent to export.

Stunning! Highway landings are a great opportunity to see jet airplanes from very close. I had never seen the Taiwanese Indigenous Fighter, I first thought of a f-18 / f-16 hybrid. It's elegant... Why don't you export it?
I remember the main runway in Le Bourget Air Show being closed back in 1993. A Rafale took off with full after burner and burned the asphalt !!!
Go RoCAF!!!

South Korea's highway and road infrastructure was built with usage as a makeshift airfield in wartime. It's arguable the US interstate system is designed to specifically have many straight sections not just for fasting travel time but for possible use as an emergency airfield. It's not confirmed I don't think, but it's plausible, and most definitely useful as such.

Additionally, when the highway was still under construction in the mid-70's, they tested the same with F5-E.

The easy part is the takeoff/landing. The purpose of such exercise is to practice the logistics of fueling and arming dissimilar aircrafts on a highway. Perhaps also testing how to get the fuel trucks through spectator traffic jam on time. lol...
Notice that the IDF did not take off with full A/B, either because of the lighter airframe, or a shallower pitch.
Wow a lot of Mirage 2000s. Hope France sells the Rafale to Taiwan
