  • god... billy taylor... so good

  • I was hoping for a video but this is rare and priceless music, no pictures needed. Practically a whole set's worth.

  • @caponsacchi If only there was a video!

  • Anyone know if this was ever released on an album? I've checked Billy's site and did some searches but didn't find anything solid. I'd love to own this as an album!

  • It hasn't been released, but perhaps if there are enough people who wish to hear and buy, it will be.

  • Nice music, JVG, thanks for posting this. I guess it's too late now to change it, but the drummer's name is Marquis Foster, not Marcus.

  • beautiful!

  • Billy Taylor could do, and did, everything. And an immediately recognizable individual swinging, loping style and touch. Shamefully underrated and bypassed. His forward beat meshes well with Mingus. Later he would usually go to Earl May on bass. The drums are almost inaudible and unnecessary.

  • It is sad this is in 360p. I would love to hear this uncompressed!

  • que delicia...

  • FUCK YEAH!!!

  • The Discography by Lindenmaier gives as issues Royal Roost RLP406 = Felsted (GB) EDL87009 = Blue Star (F) BLP 6815. Bootleg Alto AL714 issues two tracks: "I'm Beginning Too See The Light" & "What Is This Thing Called Love". Recording Date given by Ruppli as 11/6/1951 and by Lindenmaier as autumn 1952.
