This is my first time walking on my new prosthetics. I lost the left leg in 2003 and the other in 2010 - both BK (below the knee). Pretty good considering it was the first try! (June 14, 2010) I hope this gives hope to other new amputees!
@fxvela Learning to walk again is never easy, I am unusually gifted in being able to get up and get going. If your prosthetic hurts, have them fix it, remake it or find a new prosthetic company. If it doesn't hurt, then work with physical therapy and practice practice practice.
Hi, am also an BK amputee. After six years of dealing with a foot that did not work and only gave me lots of bad ass pain, I finally cut it off. I wanted to do it on the first years after the accident but I had a lot of people that was not supporting me on that decision. At the end I decided to do it anyway and so far am the happiest camper. After 35 surgeries am happy once more. No more pain! I got my prosthesis 6 weeks after the surgery and is not been as simple as it looks.
