Not any more. He had health problems and went through physical rehab. I think he had a stroke. Not exactly sure.

seen gene stus bowl for years- that guy was like a machine, same down and in shot ; do you know if he still bowls as a pro ?
-
Yes we do and I'll add that match to my youtube page momentarily.
-
Granted, the next game he threw on TV... well, that was at Cal Bowl and we all know about that. :)

Gene had a chance to beat Larry Galloway if he got the first strike in the tenth frame but he left the 2-8-10 combination after his ball came in light. Gene was top seeded. Why he chose to finish on lane 60 was beyond me!
-
Yeah, I remember Gene's 150, now that you mention it.

Beginning in 1993, they moved the championship round matches to 51 and 52. They installed synthetic lanes after the '92 Showboat Invitational. Nelson Burton Jr made his senior tour debut at the Showboat. Teata Semiz, Hobo Boothe, Larry Galloway, and top seeded Gene Stus were the other combatants. The senior show scores were low too as Gene Stus bowled a game in the 150's to lose to Galloway's 171 score

My God... as brutal as this is, it's amazing to watch.
Is this why they moved off of 59 and 60? 1993 was the last time they used it, and that too was low scoring.
Awesome video, hope we can see the title match someday!

tricksteve,
I will be adding that match in addition to the opening match featuring Chris Warren and Philip Ringener within the next week or so.
