Ecuadorian Jazz Musician. Duet performance with piano and melodica. I am using a German Hohner HM-36 Professional 36 Melodica in this video.

  • Hi I love your performance! Just wondering what type melodica do you use, as I have been interested in this instrument too. Very inspired by your playing.

  • Thank you for your comment, I appreciate it, I am using a German Hohner HM-36 Professional 36 Melodica. There are many other melodicas in the market. I personally would suggest to find an Eolina or a Vibrandoneon (are similar to the melodicas but made with wood), for a deeper tone, still the one in this video is a basic melodica that I have for more than 20 years, I used it to experiment overdubbing with my piano comping. It was a fun experiment, I am glad you liked it.

  • Thank you, I appreciate your comments

  • prejudice you may send me the score of My Funny Valentine (Rodgers Hart _) x I love how the melody sounds and I also would like to learn through

  • @EnvyOfVega I think that was via the amount of blowing airstream

  • Very elegant. How do you obtain that tremolo effect?

  • Can't find enough good words to say about this, simply a perfect performance and an amazing demonstration of the melodica.

  • Am considering buying a melodica, but a little put-off by the rasping quality of the sound on some demos. Now I know they can be played sensitively, and with due regard to dynamics.

  • This is a pretty good recording. Most of the melodica videos are low-quality, so I'm guessing they don't bring out the smoothness you can achieve with it. I don't know for sure, I just ordered one.

  • You have achieved a beautiful tone on this, I struggle with my melodica, I can't get the same sort of emotion as I can on my sax or piano

  • I was about to go to bed when I came across this song and had to log in to leave a comment. This is absolutely wonderful! You are an amazing musician, and a wonderful jazz artist, keep up the great work!
