Here in the U.S. this election was like blacks "voting for the first time". Our new president is the best thing that has happened to the world. America has lived up to its dream.
I had never waited in line to vote in all the years I have been old enough to vote ! But the 2008 Presidential election I waited 45 minutes to vote ! That was unreal. The only good thing was my polling place is directly across the street from my house.
Holy crap! My precint openned at 7am, I was #89 @ 7:18..I was out of there at 8:15..I thought that was pretty good but normally at noon there would have been maybe 50 votes..so wow! what a turn out! I am Detroit. When I left there were thousands in line acording to the local radio stations!
In the UK when we go to the polls, we go into a booth, put an X on a piece of paper, drop it in a box and walk out. It takes about 45 seconds. I've never seen a queue at a polling station in my life. Honestly, looking at the queues for this election reminds me of South Africa when blacks were allowed to vote for the first time.
