This month's "Our Town" takes a look at Plymouth, MA.
With Thanksgiving right around the corner, there is probably no better town to feature this month than Plymouth, MA -- home of the Mayflower's landing, pilgrims and our nation's first Thanksgiving.
Plymouth has a storied past but is probably best known for Plymouth Rock, the fabled site of where the Mayflower landed back in 1620. While the rock landing is up for debate -- there was no actual reference of the Pilgrims landing at a rock until more than 100 years after the occurrence -- Plymouth Rock can still be seen on the shore of Plymouth Harbor.
A wonderfully historic town, Plymouth blends old-world charm with modern day amenities in a family-friendly atmosphere.
The town lies on Massachusetts East coast and is about 40 miles south of Boston with easy highway access to Routes 3, 44, 495 and 195.
