Barack Obama suffered an awkward moment during a banquet at Buckingham Palace last night when he broke royal protocol by speaking over the national anthem.

Perhaps ..Queen has seen too many US presidents and cant hear the toast again and again so made them start the anthem early. Just google "queen and US presidents poster" to see how many US presidents she has met

@MsLiew1901 Not in America, or at least I've never seen it. In fact, if I didn't know this was a "total mishap" I would have thought they were playing the anthem in the background as like... a speech enhancer. Never heard of that stopping it crap. I get its a custom, but he obviously didn't know. Embarassing, but not that big a deal unless you make it one. The Queen didn't seem to bothered when she made sure to acknowledge his comments after the anthem.
