A short film regarding Anne Boleyn's second (and last) stay at the Tower of London in 1536. It includes a little seen view of the fake 'Anne Boleyn' room within the Queen's House. In reality, Anne's apartments have now decayed.
The song playing at the end is a musical version of 'O Death Rock me Asleep' which Anne is supposed to have written during her imprisonment. It is highly unlikely that this is the case, despite the fact that it can be traced back to 1536. I will shortly post a film regarding the song, and Dr Eric Ives's opinion of it.

  • Thank you for uploading this, I really enjoyed it! Can we please see more of it? What programme is it taken from?

  • Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed! The series is called 'The Tower' and I will be loading some new clips shortly... although they will not necessarily be regarding Anne. I have posted another clip regarding Anne's apartments at the Tower, and also regarding the well documented Execution of the Earl of Essex

  • Thank you. I am ever so slightly obsessed with Anne and having read your profile I'm envious - how lovely to live so near Hever! I'm hoping to make the trip there later this year. Loved Hampton Court & the Tower. Good luck with your studies! :)

  • Lol, it is fabulous I must say...I am thoroughly spoilt! When I'm feeling grouchy there is nothing like a trip to Hever to make me feel all good again! It is such a beautiful place. A lot of the lower ground rooms have been converted in the 20's, and although are stunning, they don't have the feel that the upper chambers do. The highlight is Anne's bedroom -- so ironically small for someone who would be the number one lady in England.
