stephen stec - long goodbye (original song)

this was originally written as a title write assignment for a songwriting class at berklee, i kind of used the opportunity to express a few of the grievances i've developed against that place, and organized education in general. god, i'm such a rebel, look at my socks they don't even match

I'm using gravity to get high as hell and fight the misery that I think i felt tryna' get at me when I let everybody die again
and i've been screaming my eyes out at this placid sky and i've been conducting traffic into traffic in my spare time
(time) is not an issue, had a surplus for years now

it's gonna be a long goodbye, in faith, i tried to make it work here...and wasted two years
thought it was an easy fix, and all of the privileged kids said 'make it happen'....that was the whole plan

so i've been using irony as a riot shield and it's retiring all the things i used to feel inside can't tell a problem from its solution
so string up my likeness with a razor wire and when i'm deaf, dumb and sightless maybe i won't be so tired, but right now i'm sooo tired

thought it was an easy fix, and all of the spoilt kids were going solo...oh what did they know?

and i don't know why my dreams are so desperate to die on me, a couple of tries and i give up
a regular life, thank you but no, i want to part the sea
