In my opinion I prefer the R62s get replaced with the R62A, because the R62 is very raggedy. Maybe the R62 can serve as work cars.

the R62/62As do not need to retire until at least 2030. they can hit 50 before retirement. the 4 no longer uses R62As. one R62 may still run on that line

They are no R-62's on the 4 anymore....the enitre 4 line is NTT and this is confirmed by a T/O!!!!

r42s arent on the ind lines, r42s are the ones u see on the E. The ones in this video are R142 and R62.

in subway terms they R62s are new. if u knew the way the system worked, u'd know that subway cars have to be used at least for 40 years b4 they start retiring and scraping them. the R62s came out in the 80s so they still have a very long way to go b4 they even begin retirement.

NEW!! Now you're being silly. A new car is one that has been in service for 10 years or less. The R62/R62A are 24 years old.
