Being a member of the military entitles you to no more respect than anyone else. Just like being old doesn't give you the right to respect. Its a job, nothing more. War simply brings out the hero or coward. A hero in war has the ability to be a hero if hes an accountant. Its not the uniform. Its the man. And any man who has the ability will earn my respect simply because of who he is. But wearing a uniform doesn't entitle you to anything. Saying it does is ignorant.

I made a very vague comment about military personnel not always being upstanding, intelligent, or virtuous people and apparently I'm Jeffery Dahmer or something because of it. This is exactly what I mean about people not being intelligent.

I'm obviously not free to express an opinion if I get the off-duty soldiers policing my comments on a YouTube page. When I lived in the south I'd probably be ostracized for not giving my unwavering support for a group of people that literally don't care about me. Are you being facetious? "Slightly better at their jobs?" No, kid, they sit on their fucking boats killing people from miles away with shells that have a long lifespan. Saying they're better at their jobs insults the thousands of men that actually died in the warzone, and "slightly" is not an appropriate way to describe a 65:4000 ratio.

And most of those 65 deaths are probably from accidents. If you took the same number of men in the navy and put them on US Highways, you'd get 65 deaths too.

Or it means that the navy's slightly better at their jobs. And you make 65 sound like a small number. Think like this, each and everyone one of those had 20 friends and 10 family members (including grandpa and whatnot), that means that about 1950 people lost someone dearly. I'm not saying that it's any better to be in the army as being a fisherman, but complaining about "only" 65 deaths while you sit on your fat ass, that's just low. Shouldn't you be happier about a lower sum of deaths?
