It might be hard for you to believe but I wouldn't be surprised if it was done on purpose.

It wasn't done on purpose. It was just because they were all a bunch of nasty asses who didn't bathe. The Jews were blamed for it because they didn't get sick. However there wasn't any real Jewish conspiracy against Christans. The real reason the Jews didn't get the black death was because they were cleaner.

Jews did get the disease, but not so many as the ordinairy europeans since they were - as you correctly say - more hygienic than others.

Forgive me if I sound overly nerotic...but you would think people would know better these day about germs. I don't know how it is in Norway but here in the eastern part of the United States, there is a vaccine shortage for the swine flu. Yet I still see people wiping thier noses on thier sleeves, coughing without covering thier mouths an people in fast food resteraunts sneezing on the food they are preparing. It makes me want to vomit!

This sounds disgusting even without the swine flu. Washing hands properly (you don't need alkohol, sope will do) and following simple hygienic rules will keep you healthy. Myself I have not had the flu since 1993. I have been offered swine flu vaccine, but will not take it. For most people swine flu is less dangerous than the seasonal flu. The vaccine I am not so sure about. But I will not give any advices, people must do what they think is right.
