This is what's in the news for Thursday, April 21st. The Wall Street Journal reports that the U.S. has begun a criminal investigation into whether Chipotle Mexican Grill (CMG) knowingly hired illegal immigrants at its restaurants. Reuters reports that Chinese regulators approved Nokia Siemens Networks' (NOK, SI) acquisition of Motorola Solutions' (MSI) telecom network gear business. Bloomberg reports that President Obama may nominate former SEC deputy director Daniel M. Gallagher as one of the five commissioners, replacing Kathleen L. Casey after her term expires in June. the Financial Times reports that the Financial Services Authority has ordered a probe into Prudential's (PUK) failed $35B deal for AIG's (AIG) AIA unit and it's expected to focus on the investment bank advisers, Credit Suisse (CS), HSBC (HBC) and JP Morgan (JPM). And finally, the Los Angeles Times reports that plans by DirecTV (DTV) to launch premium video on demand are being criticized by many Hollywood directors and producers.
