No, this is off a Ray Sawyer vinyl album I bought at a flea market, although I know what you mean, I heard it first on an Austin City Limits TV show that Dr. Hook was appearing on, so I guess it could have been.

This song was written by Joel Jaffe, Ray's doctor. It was performed with the whole Dr. Hook band on a PBS broadcast sometime in the 1980s, as I recall. Shel Silverstein was also featured in that program.

You know what, we must have been watching the same program then, cause that was the first time I heard the song and I could never find it, until years later in a second hand record shop, I found the solo album by Ray.

@barrygioportmorien1 Hi barry, any chace u cud get me a copy of this album. Me & my sisters grew up with it, wud make a lovely xmas for them, bring back so many childhood memories! Been looking everywhere for it xx

Sorry, I actually gave the album away a few years ago, I only recorded two songs off of it. I think it would be almost impossible to find now.
