This tune is dedicated to Banned Books Week 2008. I wrote "Don't Read This Book" last year for the same event. All the book titles and author names in the lyrics are from the American Library Association's "Challenged" list. For more information regarding Banned Books Week, check out the link below:

I'm writing a paper on the censorship and banning of American Literature. Would you mind if i used the music as the background to my presentation for my paper?

@malinda61424 Yes, you may use it for your presentation. I'm flattered you would want to.

The only bad thing I have to say about this song is you use the term "Run Away Jim" why didn't you use the term "Nigger Jim?" That's the term Mark Twain used. Did you yourself just censor Huck Finn in your song?

@ondfritz2 I needed 4 syllables. Also, Runaway Jim sounds good to me - more musical and rhythmic. To be honest, I never even thought about any other words there.

They banned Goosebumps???!! WTF
GhettoBlaster100 1 year ago
@GhettoBlaster100 Never fear. Goosebumps, and all the books referenced. have never been banned. There was a challenge on each book to have it removed from schools or libraries. I suspect they were challenged by people who don't read books.
